Lamar Hetrick Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in 1994 through contributions of former members of Elmore Troop 314 of the Boy Scouts of America.
Purpose
To perpetuate the recognition and memory of the late Lamar Hetrick, former Superintendent of the Harris-Elmore Public School, and outstanding citizen leader in the community, and long time leader and life blood of the Elmore Boy Scouts.
To reward boys of Troop 314 who have achieved Eagle, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.
To encourage the Eagle Scouts to further their education.
Qualifications
Attain the rank of Eagle Scout as a Boy Scout registered with Troop 314
A graduate of Woodmore High School
Expressed intent to submit an application to college, trade school, or military academy
Scholarship application submitted to fund administrator
Proof of enrollment in the form of a copy of one report card submitted to fund administrator
Fund Administration
The scholarship is non-competitive and a one-time award for $500
The Lamar Hetrick Boy Scout Scholarship is funded by an endowment and is sensitive to interest rates. The scholarship amount will be determined annually by the fund administrator with consideration for the balance in the fund and the number of applicants. All funds will be retained by the fund adminstrator until all qualifications are met.
